The annual Global DIY Summit is an important platform for us as it allows us to discuss current and future industry developments with decision-makers and leading companies”, says Johannes Konrad, Managing Director Sales and Marketing fixing systems for the fischer Group of Companies. “I am certain that we will once again find plenty of inspiring information on the global DIY market and also be able to provide inspiration ourselves”. The fixing specialist will also be presenting its new products especially for Do-It-Yourselfers at the accompanying summit exhibition in line with the overall theme of innovation.

This will include the new NO TOOLS, JUST HANDS range of products for tool-free installation that is currently being expanded in an in-house spinoff. The range already includes 25 products that are divided into corresponding categories called SMART HANGING, REPAIRING and GLUING. fischer will also be showcasing its DUO-Line at the fair stall. DUO-Line consists of intelligent anchors made of an innovative combination of materials. The self-drilling gypsum plasterboard anchor DUOBLADE is a new addition. It was presented with a Red Dot by the “Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019” just three months after its market introduction for the high quality of its design. The newcomer enables quick and simple installation and a firm hold in plasterboard and light cement board with its sharp metal tip, its three effective cutting teeth and other technical ingenuities. The DUO-Line also includes the intelligent 2-component anchors DUOPOWER and DUOTEC. The fischer DUOPOWER self-activates depending on the construction material and transfers the highest load levels through its three functions: folding, expanding and knotting. The fischer DUOTEC supports high shear and tensile loads in all board materials and can also be used as an expansion anchor.

Another main topic of the 7th Global DIY Summit will include advances in digitalisation that bear new opportunities and risks for the DIY industry and the economy as a whole. This will also change fixing technology requirements. fischer offers digital services such as plug finder apps for end consumers and professionals. The fixing specialist recently won an award in the “Digital Customer Experiences” category in South West Germany’s Digital Champions Award for its new “fischer Professional” app. fischer also offers various planning tools such as the FIXPERIENCE design software as well as data for various software applications (BIM, 3D).

More than 1,000 participants from 50 different countries are expected to attend this year’s DIY Summit. The event is organised by the European DIY-Retail Association (EDRA), the European Federation of DIY Manufacturers (fediyma) and the Global Home Improvement Network (GHIN).
