Powerful without stirring up dust

With the new FHD II hollow drill, fischer is launching an advanced solution for dust-free drilling and simultaneous drill hole cleaning. Extracting the drill dust directly at the source protects the users’ health and ensures that anchors achieve their guaranteed load-bearing capacities – eliminating errors caused by manual cleaning. The second generation of the fischer hollow drill impresses with increased efficiency, flexibility and durability. The new solid carbide head extends service life – especially when hitting reinforcement. In addition, the FHD II can be dismantled without tools, simplifying cleaning, mainte-nance and replacement of parts.

The future of tunnel construction: BauBots drill ahead

Autobahn GmbH's Southwest branch is currently carrying out extensive structural and operational upgrades to the Engelberg Tunnel in Leonberg, located in the southwest German state of Baden-Württemberg. Three fischer BauBots were used for this project. The construction robots fully automatically drilled more than 9,000 holes — each with a diameter of 20 mm and a depth of 240 mm — at heights of up to 7.5 m. This improved efficiency and precision during fastening tasks.

High-tech meets thrill

In Europa-Park in Rust near Freiburg, Germany, the fastening expert fischer is testing its Construction Monitoring solution in a pilot operation. Five bolted joints on the seat consoles of the roller coaster “blue fire Megacoaster” were supplemented with SensorBolts, which feature integrated force measurement and transmission technology. This allows the products to be tested in the pilot application under very demanding operating conditions. The seat fastenings on the roller coaster are repeatedly subjected to high forces. Should the fischer Construction Monitoring solution prove itself in this project, it will be able to enhance the Europa-Park’s safety concept in the future.
