The jury’s overall assessment of the DuoSeal stated that it is “an exciting and intelligent solution to a frequent problem in moist and wet areas. The plug prevents sealing issues during the installation of handles, shower walls and similar installations”. This is also an argument for requiring fewer changes for an accessible bathroom, in line with the motto of this year’s product competition: “Bathroom comfort for generations”.
The DuoSeal enables secure fastenings while simultaneously sealing the drill hole in various tiled wet areas without additional sealing compounds. The DuoSeal was independently assessed together with the stainless steel screw contained in the set by the testing and certification institute of the Säure Fliesner Association. The result verified its watertightness in accordance with ETAG 022 and the DIN 18534 standard. The DuoSeal not only makes it simpler and quicker for sanitary and HVAC tradespeople as well as other users to complete fastening tasks, but it also reduces the cost of materials and effort required. The plug self-activates the right function for a firm hold in solid, hollow and panel construction materials by expanding, folding or knotting. Additional technical ingenuities increase the level of flexibility and ease of use.
Numerous manufacturers from Germany and around the world took part in the 2021 product competition as part of the ZVSHK Award. 27 extraordinary bathroom products that combine aesthetics with accessible functionality were nominated. The jury of experts selected five winners, including the fischer DuoSeal. The celebratory award ceremony took place during the digital ISH, the world’s leading trade fair in the bathroom industry. Every two years, the main sanitation association presents the ZVSHK Award for innovative bathroom product solutions.
