Their full thread make the Power-Full wood construction screws suitable for the optimal force transmission during demanding connections and for reinforcing load-bearing wooden constructions. When used as a “reinforcement”, the “practical helpers” save the cost of larger beam cross-sections.
The applications of the Power-Fast partial thread screws comprise wooden framework and beam constructions, installing on-roof insulation systems and numerous other fixing tasks. Alongside powerful wood construction screws, the Power-Fast group also includes the high-performance chipboard screws, for example for fastening board materials and solid woods or skirting boards.
The new corrosion-resistant variants with stainless steel (A2 and A4) with countersunk and flange heads that are especially suited for outdoors use will be presented in front of a wide audience for the first time at the Dach+Holz fair. The European technical screw assessment’s classification (ETA-11/0027) for utility class 3 in accordance with Eurocode 5 confirms that these variants withstand direct weather exposure. Amongst other things, EC5 regulates the weather resilience of wood construction components after installation and provides evidence of structural stability with the correct load-bearing capacity.
Overall, fischer’s broad range of wood screws covers all applications of carpenters and wood constructors with the respective suitable drive forces, heads, threads, coating and material variants and sizes. Drill bits, thread geometries and slide coatings attuned to fixing projects ensure a quick bite and drill progress – for the simple installation without pre-drilling in pinewood. This saves time, effort and battery power. Pre-drilling can be done if desired or needed – and is mandatory in hardwood. The technology and specialist head shapes also enable gap-free and splinter-free fastenings close to the edge.
As well as the “helpers” for carpenters and wood constructors, fischer also offers other screws specifically for the installation of decking boards, flap joints, MDF boards, for laying decking, and many more. Carpenters, joiners, drywall installation and horticulture are therefore also catered for.
With the WOOD-FIX module, a component of the FIXPERIENCE design and construction software family, wood connections and reinforcements can be calculated quickly and easily, including the determination of applicable wind and snow pressure zones. fischer is also setting up an advice station for questions about its innovative measurement programme at its Dach+Holz trade fair stall. fischer will also be giving a live demonstration of the safety of its wood construction screws during hourly moderated load-bearing tests.
