This year, the fischer Group of Companies will once again be attending the World Tunnel Congress, the world’s most popular tunnel construction conference. The company will be presenting a selection of its products and services for tunnel construction at booth G41 in hall 17 of the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Centre in Shenzhen, China, between 22 and 24 April 2024. With its broad spectrum of products and services, the company supports tunnel and infrastructure projects.

In keeping with the theme of the conference, the company will be presenting products which have a particularly long service life, such as the fischer FIS EM Plus injection mortar, which has an assessment (ETA) that guarantees a service life of 100 years for post-installed rebar connections and anchorages in cracked concrete. An external, independent assessment by Stuttgart’s IEA has even confirmed a service life of up to 120 years. fischer’s FIS EM Plus has already been used for a wide range of successful tunnel construction projects around the globe, such as the Swina Tunnel in Poland, one of Europe’s longest underwater tunnels which was opened last year.

Another product showcased at this year’s World Tunnel Congress includes the fischer UltraCut FBS II concrete screw, which is suitable for many tunnel construction applications. fischer’s UltraCut FBS II can be used to secure lighting, conductor lines, safety doors, automatic barriers, fences and temporary rail systems for transporting materials, for instance. The fixing expert will furthermore be presenting the FNA II nail anchor in Shenzhen, which allows rebar mats to be fastened to apply spray mortar with fire protection properties to concrete walls inside tunnels.

Another highlight of fischer’s exhibition booth is the fischer Cast-in Channel system, which consists of anchor channels and special t-head bolts and is setting standards and trends with its ingenious technology. The fischer Cast-in Channel System is used for fastening applications during the construction of rail tunnels, among other things.

fischer will also be presenting its FZA ZYKON undercut anchor, which is used to fasten supply lines, as well as fischer’s FHB highbond dynamic anchor, which covers a wide range of applications in tunnel construction.

Among the products to be featured in Shenzhen are fischer installation systems, which cover almost any application involving fastening and guiding supply lines underground and in other structures with many different variants in hot-dip galvanised and stainless steel for lightweight to heavy loads. Planners and users can combine the required modular components depending on the construction circumstances and the circumference of the pipes.

With a wide range of temporary and permanent fixing and installation systems, the fischer Group of Companies covers almost any application in tunnel construction. Fire protection systems, media lines, supply and disposal lines, lighting, ventilation, suspended ceilings, guard rails and crash barriers, traffic lights and signs and much more can be secured with fischer’s solutions. Fixing and installation systems fasten signal technology, overhead contact systems, railings, sound protection panels and other equipment in rail tunnels.

The company's Innovation Hub China, which works with start-ups and suppliers to develop innovative construction technology, will also be attending the fair. Innovation Hub China will be speaking to experts attending the World Tunnel Congress to understand their tunnel construction needs and requirements and identify gaps in the market.
