The new fischer DuoHM cavity fixing provides added flexibility and efficiency for fastenings in panel building materials. Thanks to its unique 2-component technology, the product innovation fulfils high load requirements. One particularly practical aspect of the DuoHM is the plug’s length, which covers any conventional building material thickness between 9.5 to 30 mm. This allows a versatile range of fastening tasks to be carried out with just one product, with 50% less installation time compared to conventional panel plugs.

Panel building materials are often found in drywall and interior construction to clad walls and ceilings or channels and conduits. A versatile range of fastening applications can be efficiently achieved in this popular building material with the new fischer DuoHM cavity fixing. Fastening TV brackets, shelves, pictures, mirrors, ceiling lamps or curtain rails – DuoHM is always the right choice for flexible and efficient fastenings on gypsum plasterboard, gypsum fibreboard, chipboard, plywood, or single or double-layered OSB board.

Like all of the plugs in fischer’s DuoLine, the DuoHM cavity fixing features a sophisticated mechanism. Its metal sleeve folds out behind the construction material and presses against the back of the panel while the nylon main body knots in the material. With this unique 2-component technology, the DuoHM fulfils high load requirements in panel materials.

One major advantage is that decision-makers and contractors no longer have to procure, store and keep many different versions of cavity fixings on the construction site. With DuoHM, just one plug length is sufficient for conventional material thicknesses of 9.5 to 30 mm. The plug is available in three different diameters that cover the usual applications, providing added flexibility and cost-effectiveness on a versatile range of fixing projects. Due to its metric internal thread, the plug also allows the screw to be loosened and reinserted multiple times, which allows fixtures to be removed and reattached with ease. The DuoHM can be used with various metric screws thanks to its metric internal thread. Additional features further guarantee a precise, secure and clean application. An optimised nylon anti-rotation lock ensures correct installation while protecting the building material from damage. A glass-fibre reinforced plug tip guarantees a highly stable tightening torque. Due to the narrow plug edge, the fastening is not visible behind the attachment, with a visually appealing result.

The plug’s application requires just a few steps: The DuoHM is simply pushed into the drill hole and the screw is inserted directly through the fixture with a regular cordless screwdriver. Once the metal sleeve is pressed fully against the panel and the tightening torque is evident, the plug has been successfully installed. No further setting tools are required for this process. Unlike conventional cavity fixings, DuoHM does not require time-consuming and strenuous placement with pliers to fully expand behind the panel. As the plug is directly installed with the fixture using a cordless screwdriver, installation takes 50% less time compared to alternative solutions. There is also no need to fully unscrew the screw once the plug has been inserted, as is necessary when using conventional cavity fixings to fasten fixtures. DuoHM also prevents damage to the surface of the construction material, as is often the case with alternative solutions due to their sharp metal anti-rotation lock.

This makes DuoHM a flexible and economical cavity fixing for a wide variety of panel building materials. The new fischer cavity fixing is available in diameters of 4, 5, and 6 with a plug length of 55 mm for its market launch.

DuoHM: The sixth member of the intelligent plug family
The fastening expert fischer is presenting the newcomer of its successful fischer DuoLine with the new DuoHM cavity fixing. The product family now consists of six intelligent plugs with an innovative combination of materials. In addition to the new DuoHM cavity fixing, the DuoLine includes DuoPower, which self-activates the right function in any anchor substrate by folding, expanding or knotting. Additional products include the fischer DuoTec for high loads in any type of panel building material and the DuoBlade, which was specially designed for gypsum plasterboard, gypsum fibre board and lightweight cement board. DuoSeal, another member of the DuoLine family, enables secure fastenings while reliably sealing drill holes in wet areas. The plug is suitable for tiled surfaces and securely anchors in solid, porous and panel construction materials. The sixth member of the DuoLine range is fischer’s DuoXpand frame fixing. Its clever combination of materials and design and various anchoring depths that suit the respective anchor substrate guarantee a secure and flexible application in solid and hollow construction materials. Hexagon and countersunk head screw versions are suitable for various applications in metal and timber construction.
