Success with digital products and solutions
fischer invested in many different digitalisation activities in 2019, which primarily included digital services, while continuing to successfully establish its startups in the market. One example is the Craftnote app, which is already used by approximately 35,000 tradespeople and was recently awarded the 2020 German Excellency Prize.

The NO TOOLS, JUST HANDS product range was increasingly rolled out on an international scale. The range includes 25 products for tool-free fixings in private households. fischer’s NO TOOLS, JUST HANDS range is now available in almost 1,000 DIY stores across Germany. On an international level the product is already available in Austria, Spain, Great Britain, France and Brazil. The range will also soon be available in Italy.

Award-winning training
Education has been of utmost importance at fischer since the beginning. 108 apprentices and dual education students are currently employed by the company. Overall, fischer provides training for 31 different technical and commercial jobs. 650 young people applied to 40 apprenticeship and dual education study places over the past financial year. fischer once again won multiple awards during the past year for its excellent training: The company received the award for “Germany’s Best Training Company” by Capital magazine as well as an award for an “Excellent Training Company” by the German Chamber of Commerce. fischer was also presented with multiple additional awards including “TOP National Employer”, “Most Popular Family Business”, the “Digital Champions Award” for the fischer Professional App, the “2020 German Sustainability Award” (for the large business category), Europe’s biggest and most important award in the field of sustainability, “TOP Innovator”, the new “Host of the Year” award as well as “Germany’s Best Canteen” award for the second time in succession, to name a few.

Forecast for 2020: expected increase in turnover of significantly more than 900 million euro
fischer is expecting a turnover increase for the current financial year 2020 at a distinctly higher rate of over 900 million euro, provided this objective is not impaired by the effects of the coronavirus or by a recession. There will be a similar degree of innovation and startup activity as in 2019. The Group of Companies will be inaugurating its new fischer InnovationCampus exclusively for startups at its headquarters in Tumlingen this May. Located in a creative environment outside the conventional daily working routine in the home of Prof. Fischer’s parents, it provides space to generate new ideas through startups that soon lead to marketable innovations and success.

fischer already established two new subsidiaries within the first two months of 2020 – a fixing systems subsidiary in Vietnam and a fischer automotive site in Serbia. During the second half of the year fischer will be opening new production sites in both countries. The family business will therefore by represented by 49 subsidiaries in 37 countries and export its products to over 100 countries.
