fischer’s activities in China are significantly on the rise. The fischer fixing systems and fischer automotive production sites have been partially running at full capacity for the past three weeks. The country is a vital market for the fischer Group of Companies, which has operated there for more than 20 years.

“The quantity for individual projects in our automotive supply department has significantly increased, which shows that people in China are once again purchasing cars and visiting car dealerships as before the Coronavirus pandemic”, says Andreas Giesinger, Managing Director of fischer automotive and fischer fixing systems in China. The company’s sales figures for the fixing systems division in China were significantly higher than the target during the month of April and in comparison to the previous year’s figures. fischer automotive sales also increased compared to February and March, as car manufacturers have recommenced production in China over the past two months.

Chemical products and steel products are in particularly high demand at fischer fixing systems in addition to installation systems (SaMontec). There was a sharp rise in demand for these products and additional product groups across the entire country aside from Beijing, where economic activity is still subdued. Following the temporary closure of its production sites in Taicang near Shanghai due to the Coronavirus pandemic, fischer reopened the fischer fixing systems and fischer automotive sites on 10th February. Activity was subdued to begin with, and free space was used for in-depth online customer training sessions, for instance.

Infrastructure projects that were under construction have now been reopened across the country. fischer is involved in multiple significant projects such as the construction of the China-Laos railway, one of China’s New Silk Road projects. Approximately 10,000 fischer injection mortars (FIS-HB) and over 100,000 fischer anchor rods (FHB-A N-rod) are being used for the new connection between South China and Laos to install the electrical overhead wiring.

On the one hand, Managing Director Andreas Giesinger sees the fast return to normal routines as being very positive for our business, on the other hand he advises caution: “It’s good for businesses and construction sites to reopen and for cars to be sold, but there is also close scrutiny to ensure measures are being adhered to”, he says.

There were no cases of infection in any of fischer’s Chinese subsidiaries. In addition to the fischer fixing systems and fischer automotive sites in Taicang, the company also has sites directly in Shanghai with fischer Consulting as well as a purchasing company.
