Mutares takes over supplier. Trailblazing decision for the future of the automotive division.

The situation in the car sector has become increasingly difficult, especially for suppliers. This has been the case above all since policies from Berlin have created huge uncertainty among manufacturers and customers, with the end of internal combustion engines and the discontinuation of subsidies for electric vehicles. Sales figures have collapsed as a result, which means that the required turnover is missing.

What is also important for the financial success of car suppliers is their size. In order to guarantee a secure future for fischer Automotive in a company with the appropriate size, it has been sold to Mutares SE & Co. KGaA. Joining a much larger supplier is the best solution for the future of fischer Automotive. In Mutares, fischer has found a purchaser with a great deal of experience, a good customer structure and an international network. With over 27,000 employees, Mutares generates sales of 4.7 billion euros. Sales in the car sector make up 2.5 billion euros of this, half of which is accounted for by the plastics division.

Prof. Klaus Fischer, the owner of the fischer Group of Companies, informed the employees of fischer Automotive of the sale today. Both sides have agreed that the purchase price will remain confidential.

The building in Horb am Neckar will remain the property of fischer and will be used to build up the fixing systems central corporate division in the future. The company will be investing over ten million euros there in the next two years into building up and expanding growth areas, such as structural retrofitting and investing in fire prevention. Special engineering in Horb am Neckar is also being expanded further.

The aim is to successively take on all the employees from production and logistics from Automotive into fixing systems. Employees from the acquisition and project division, as well as in the foreign subsidiaries in the Czech Republic, Serbia, the USA and China, will continue to be employed by Mutares.

fischer Automotive develops, produces and distributes kinematic components for vehicle interiors and exteriors, such as air vents, storage compartments, cup holders and charger flap. The company has subsidiaries in the USA (Auburn Hills), China (Taicang), Serbia (Jagodina) and in the Czech Republic (Ivanovice na Hané and Holubice), where production, and partly also development, are carried out.
