Despite a challenging market environment, the Group of Companies concluded the 2024 financial year with a good result. fischer achieved a turnover of 1.11 billion euro and grew by one per cent.
The family business from Waldachtal in the northern Black Forest achieved solid growth in India, the Middle East and South America in particular. The excellent sales figures in these regions are also the result of the company’s sustainable growth strategy, which has allowed fischer to continue to operate independently of negative global effects. By contrast, Europe’s economic situation remains challenging. Overall, fischer employs 4,700 members of staff following the sale of fischer Automotive.
Investments in the plant of the former fischer Automotive site in Horb are laying the foundation for further growth of the fischer fixing systems division, with an emphasis on solutions for renovating and refurbishing existing buildings and fire protection.
The Group of Companies saw a slight increase in turnover of one per cent compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the company successfully demonstrated its project capabilities on a global scale. Its reference projects in 2024 included securing the St Mark’s Basilica in Venice against flooding as well as the Estrel Tower, which will be the tallest building in Berlin. Another outstanding project was the luxurious Peninsula residential complex in Dubai’s Business Bay, which is currently under construction.
2024 also saw fischer continue its highly successful collaboration with Jürgen Klopp, one of the world’s most successful football coaches and fischer’s Brand Ambassador as of early 2023. Joint marketing campaigns advertised the company’s screws, solar fixings and project expertise. fischer’s Brand Ambassador Michael Jung won his fourth gold medal in eventing during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, making him the most successful eventing rider in the Olympics. Decathlete Niklas Kaul, who is also a Brand Ambassador for the company, finished eighth in Paris.
Success in the market with digital innovations
fischer’s digital offer is a guarantee of success. The company’s range comprises BIM services (Building Information Modelling), automated construction with the fischer BauBot construction robot as well as fastening products equipped with digital features connected to the Internet of Things (IoT) for efficient building monitoring.
fischer’s BauBot is used in tunnel and bridge construction, among other applications. With its full acquisition of the Baubot startup and by founding the new fischer BauBot Services GmbH in 2024, the company is advancing its applications and offers in the field of robotics in construction. fischer Construction Monitoring was successfully applied in the industrial, infrastructure and structural engineering sectors. This sensor innovation allows the status of fastening points in buildings to be monitored remotely from a PC or smartphone. Meanwhile, fischer further developed its digital offer. In late 2024, fischer integrated a new AI-based construction material recognition feature into its fischer DIY app, which is capable of analysing and automatically determining the anchor substrate based on knocking sounds recorded with the phone’s microphone.
fischertechnik turns 60
The fischertechnik division will continue to expand its product range across all three segments (toys, education and industry) in the year of its 60th anniversary while significantly developing its international focus in all areas. Over the course of the year, fischertechnik will furthermore be launching several appealingly priced sets in new colours and with new design components that will provide an easy introduction to the fischertechnik system.
Award-winning sustainability and best canteen
The Group of Companies has been highly successful with its versatile range of activities in the field of sustainability and has already won multiple awards, such as the German SDG Award in the Youth and Education category, a prize presented by the Senate of Economy and UNIDO, an organisation of the United Nations. The award recognises that fischer assumes social responsibility and is committed to achieving the UN’s 17 sustainability goals on many levels. In 2024, fischer was also presented with the prestigious GREEN BRANDS quality seal, a significant and valuable recognition of the company’s efforts in the field of sustainability.
fischer takes responsibility for its members of staff and is thus becoming an increasingly popular employer, as confirmed by the company winning an award for Employer of the Future. This award is presented by the German Innovation Institute for Sustainability and Digitalisation and DUP magazine and is proof of the company’s appeal in the competition for the best talent.
fischer’s staff restaurant in Tumlingen won the award for Germany’s Best Canteen for the sixth time in succession. The kitchen team was awarded four stars by the jury panel, achieving fifth place in the ‘Gusto’ category and once again setting nationwide standards in staff catering. Overall, the staff restaurant is one of the top 10 in the whole of Germany.
fischer is Factory of the Year 2024
Factory of the Year is regarded as the most prestigious and demanding competition for the manufacturing industry in Germany and Europe. In 2024, the fischer Group of Companies was delighted to have won the GEO Award (Global Excellence in Operations) category for its production plant in Ivanovice na Hané, Czech Republic. In addition to Factory of the Year, fischer also won an award by the Allianz Industrie 4.0 network in 2024. The project ‘Synchronised planning along the value creation process through the use of digital, fully integrated planning tools using the example of the nail fixing pilot field’ was presented with the Allianz Industrie 4.0 Award in the ‘winner’ category.
A career with the world market leader
With 16 apprenticeship careers and 14 dual study programmes, fischer continued to offer an appealing spectrum of careers in 2024. Various talent pools subsequently prepare trainees for management and specialist careers.
2025 outlook
Based on its broad, international portfolio of innovations, the fischer Group of Companies is expecting an increase in turnover for the 2025 financial year; however, high energy costs and bureaucratic hurdles continue to hamper development, particularly in Germany. The company expects better conditions for family-owned businesses as a result of reorientation measures in Germany. Overall, fischer will be very cautious with its investments in the current year, but will continue to make any investments relating to the future.
