The fischertechnik Strong Pneumatics construction kit explains the principles of pneumatic drives through six models. Impressive constructions such as a scissor lift table, a front loader or a tree trunk gripper allow the functionality behind the proven drive technology to be learnt in a playful manner. The construction kit is available for 119.90 Euro from specialist retailers from March and is suitable for children aged 9 and up.
Six different models that illustrate the principles of pneumatics can be built with the fischertechnik building blocks, a compressor, three cylinders and three exhaust throttles.
These include three particularly impressive vehicles that can be found on farms or in forests in everyday life. One of these is a tractor that comes equipped with a compressor. The impressive steerable model with its large tyres provides a basis for three clever additions: A front loader lowers and lifts the bucket and tips it over at the front. The exhaust throttle regulates the speed to make sure the bucket doesn’t lift up and over too quickly.
Tree grippers do heavy-duty work in the forest and can be recreated with this construction kit. The arm raises and lowers while the pliers are opened and closed with the hand valve. The gripper arm can even be fully rotated - just like the impressive original during heavy-duty forest work.
The double rotary rake is driven by a drive shaft and rotates as soon as the tractor moves. Once the job is completed, it can be fully retracted to allow the tractor to park in the garage. Rotary rakes are used in agriculture when harvesting crops such as hay. fischertechnik allows children to replicate this useful machine.
The kit also includes a scissor lift table, a clamping device and an easy-to-build working model.
“Our pneumatics construction kit awakens a playful understanding of technical processes”, explains fischertechnik Managing Director Wilhelm Schoch.
