Teachers can create hands-on lessons in computer science, mathematics and science subjects with the new fischertechnik STEM Coding Max learning concept (available from September, RRP 420 euro). STEM Coding Max also teaches children social, emotional and methodological skills through hands-on, play-based learning approaches.

Pupils can build various models that can be individually programmed according to their performance level with the fischertechnik STEM Coding Max learning concept, which was specially developed for secondary school level. The tasks and models are designed to provide a gradually increasing level of difficulty. Four entry-level models and useful tutorials provide an introduction to the subject.

It is also easy for teachers to get to grips with working with the fischertechnik learning concept through a comprehensive range of learning materials with structured lesson plans, curriculum references, different options and additional materials that are available free of charge on the fischertechnik website. The set therefore offers the ideal introduction to STEM and robotics concepts in lessons.

This learning concept draws on a contemporary theme: computational thinking, the process of breaking down a complex problem into simple steps. The fischertechnik learning concept allows these skills to be trained effectively and sustainably while simultaneously developing skills such as critical thinking and initiative.

Eleven everyday models can be built with the 243 parts, while block and text-based programming is conveyed through an easy-to-use controller. The models can be easily assembled and equipped with various electronic and digital components. A controller processes the digital and analogue signals from the sensors, issuing commands with which the actuators contained in the set can be controlled.
The gear elements included in the learning concept create a connection with mechanical processes such as load transmission. The models can be programmed in Scratch, Blockly and Python with the user-friendly fischertechnik STEM Suite app. Young creative minds support and inspire one another while building and programming, learning how to work in a team and look for creative solutions together.

Videos on how to get started with and programme the controller, app, actuators and sensors provide an easy introduction for learners and teachers alike. An easy-to-use app is available free of charge and offers a digital learning environment. Pupils learn how to programme in Scratch, Blockly or Python by being provided with a step-by-step introduction to building and programming through everyday tasks and interactive elements.

fischertechnik STEM Coding Max was developed by a team of experienced teachers, engineers and computer scientists. A comprehensive range of learning materials with curriculum references come equipped with lesson plans and are available free of charge at www.fischertechnik.de/en.

fischertechnik teaching material sets
The new fischertechnik learning concepts help convey relevant learning objectives in STEM subjects in line with abilities and the curriculum through stimulating and exciting lessons. The learning concepts range from years 1 to 13 in primary and secondary schools through to vocational training and higher education. fischertechnik thereby enables schools of every kind to successfully navigate the digital transformation and deliver future skills. Young people learn skills such as critical thinking, reflective skills, problem-solving, initiative and creativity.

fischertechnik’s reputation for combining successful learning with fun has led teachers and psychologists at the Transfer Center for Neurosciences and Learning (ZNL) to recommend fischertechnik’s educational construction kits for Germany’s Spielen macht Schule school initiative.

In addition to toy sets and educational construction kits specifically designed for school lessons, fischertechnik also offers preassembled, compact function and simulation models for training and demonstration purposes. Training, development or presentations: fischertechnik’s training models are used across the globe for planning and simulations. They can be used to plan, develop and test industrial processes and offer versatile uses, particularly in the field of Industry 4.0.
