At a time when automation and digitalization are determining the future of production, fischertechnik offers a unique solution: compact factory simulation systems that make complex production processes understandable and tangible. These modular systems combine fischertechnik's playful approach with the precision needed to meet the requirements of industry, research and higher education. They are not only a tool for training, but also an engine for innovation - whether in the development of new technologies, in the training of employees or in research. The innovative factory simulation can be seen at Hannover Messe in hall 15, booth number A06.

The factory of the future is the subject of numerous research projects in science and industry. Future-oriented companies rely on automation, modularity, artificial intelligence and agility in order to remain competitive. In order to drive these topics forward in industry and research, students, trainees and employees need the relevant expertise and awareness to deal with complex issues.

This is where fischertechnik's learning concept comes in. The simulation systems are fully compatible with modern technologies such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and IoT platforms. Thanks to integrated sensors and actuators, processes can be automated and monitored in real time. Connection to ERP and MES systems is also possible in order to optimally control material flows, production planning and logistics.

Simulation models such as the fischertechnik Agile Production Simulation simulate processes such as quality assurance using artificial intelligence and the functioning of driverless transport systems in the smallest of spaces and reproduce automated processes: From incoming goods to modular production and quality assurance. The accompanying didactics translate the hands-on simulated processes into future skills for learners and teachers. The digital twin of the model significantly intensifies the learning experience.

The associated digital learning platform is based on a digital twin of the Agile Production Simulation and represents the didactic counterpart to the haptic model factory. The high-performance immersive learning environment explains the controls, actuators, sensors and functionality of the factory simulations.

Used in research and industry

The University of Potsdam uses the fischertechnik factory simulation systems specifically for AI research. Students and researchers use the models to develop and test automated processes and algorithms for artificial intelligence. In this way, theory is put into practice and the next generation of engineers is prepared for the demands of modern industry.

Large companies such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Airbus also rely on simulation models from fischertechnik. BMW uses the models for employee training, while Industry 4.0 applications and digitalized production processes are being researched in cooperation with IBM and other partners.

With the factory simulation systems, fischertechnik shows how education and industry can inspire each other and work together to create the foundations for the production of the future. The simulation models pave the way for a networked, sustainable and intelligent world.

fischertechnik: 60 years of innovation ‘Made in Germany’

fischertechnik celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2025 and looks back on a long tradition of innovative, high-quality construction sets. The products are ‘Made in Germany’ and are characterised by excellent quality, sustainable production and sophisticated technology. With its factory simulation systems, fischertechnik is also demonstrating in its anniversary year how education and industry can inspire each other and jointly create the foundations for the production of the future. The simulation models pave the way for a networked, sustainable and intelligent world.
