With its new products, fischertechnik Education is offering a simple introduction to programming, explaining technical connections of modern everyday life.

The fischertechnik Education school construction kit Robotics Sensor Station IoT is ideal for group work in technology lessons. The set, which comes in a practical storage box, consists of a sensor station that is constructed of popular fischertechnik components and equipped with various actuators and sensors: young constructors can capture every movement in a snapshot using a moveable USB camera. A barometer measures the air pressure, while a so-called mould-guard provides information about the humidity and temperature. Is there something in the air of the classroom or is there room to breathe?

A wellness sensor provides information on air quality. A noise sensor and frost guard are also part of the comprehensive high-tech station.

A LED-display and alarm signals sound an alert when certain values have been exceeded, or if the camera has registered movement. This function allows a plant’s growth or temperature fluctuations to be documented, for example.

The respective data can be gathered, displayed in a graph and analysed. This can also be done from a larger distance, so that teaching projects can also take place outside the classroom.  The ROBOTICS TXT Controller can be connected to a cloud, allowing the data to be accessed from anywhere, at any time. The Robotics Sensor Station IoT is available as an expansion set or as a complete set with the Robotics TXT Controller, the ROBO Pro software and a power supply unit.

The fischertechnik Education school construction kit Calliope contains three models, with users being able to create further models themselves. A hand dryer, traffic lights, or a barrier can easily be built using the assembly instructions. The models are controlled through the Calliope Board and the Open Roberta programming environment.

fischertechnik Calliope can be used during guided or independent lessons. The accompanying didactic booklet with material for teachers and lessons provides step-by-step start-up instructions as well as various tasks. The lesson material can be downloaded for free in fischertechnik’s e-learning portal.

The new fischertechnik Education products for the school market will be introduced at the Didacta trade fair for the first time, which takes place from 20th to 24th February in Hanover.

fischertechnik can be seen at the fair stalls of the school suppliers Christiani (hall 13, booth E 112) and Conrad Education (hall 13, booth B79).
