Extension of the fischer Professional app

“After the fischer Professional app launched about a year ago, it quickly became apparent that it was filling a crucial gap in communication”, says Matthias Schneider, Division Manager Digital Services at fischer. “Numerous professional users are already taking advantage of the option to receive information and advice on fischer fixing technology anywhere at any time”. The tremendous added value of the fischer Professional app for tradespeople received the Digital Champions Award of Germany’s Southwest region last May in the “Digital Customer Experience” category.

Additional optimisations now make finding the right fixing solution and any other information with the app faster, easier and more targeted. The product search was improved based on user search behaviour and new features have been added. Tradespeople can chat directly with fischer application engineers through the app in case of complex questions, for example. The most frequently used features can now also be compiled as required in a tile area on the dashboard. This allows users to access frequently used features with the touch of a finger upon launching the app. These features include the fixings adviser, which intuitively suggests the most suitable fixing solution upon entering common parameters. The app can display local retailers within the area to allow users to purchase the product in store or complete their order through the online shop.

fischer is accompanying its app developments with a large-scale online campaign on Facebook, Instagram, the Google Play Store and the Apple Store in addition to reports on the fischer Blog. New videos explain and outline the features and advantages in a memorable and original manner, such as through animations and a tradespeople challenge. Email footers, online banners, newsletters and much more draw attention to the application. Users can also receive information about the app on its own microsite.

The marketing programme is completed via sales support at the point of sale, which includes flyers, posters and shelf stoppers. By promoting its fischer Professional app developments across all online channels and points of sale, the fixings specialist is attracting new users. This ultimately leads more customers to their nearest store of a fischer retail partner or to their web store. The retailer’s store is always integrated into the shopping experience, which starts with the fischer Professional app.

The app is available as an Android and iOS version. It can be found and installed on a smart phone by searching for “fischer Professional” in the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
