fischer wins five accolades at the German Brand Award

“Marketing is of great importance to our company” says fischer CEO Marc-Sven Mengis. “We keep thinking of new ways to effectively target our customers and thereby achieve commercial success. The five awards won during the German Brand Award honour our employees’ commitment and serve as confirmation for us to continue our innovative course”.

 fischer was declared winner of the “Building & Elements” industry in the “Excellent Brands” competition, making it one of the best product and corporate brands of the construction industry. The company also won the gold award in the “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation – Brand Communication – Social Media” category, one of the highest accolades of the entire competition.

The German Brand Award 2020 received 1,200 submissions from 14 countries, among which fischer’s social media strategy stood out. Only 47 projects and brands received a gold award, of which 22 were presented as part of the “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation” competition. The jury highly rated the all-encompassing strategy which has resulted in direct end customer channels with a brand image that is consistent in terms of content and visuals. “Corporate values such as modernism and dynamism are just as evident as the likeable aspect, which leads to significant emotional ties to the brand”, the jury stated, explaining its decision. “It is a professional, contemporary image that focuses on the target group while making a relevant contribution in the field of employer branding”.

The fischer Group of Companies has been implementing its new social media strategy since 2017, which has already been launched in 30 of its 49 subsidiaries. “The profiles of our six channels and our fischer blog, planning the contents and multimedia format and our brand image have since made gains in terms of consistency, brand recognition and impact”, says Volker Amann, Division Manager International Marketing at fischer. “We can now directly target end consumers with a higher reach while gaining new insights by communicating with users”.

fischer also received awards in three additional categories, proving its all-encompassing utmost level of competency in brand management. An independent panel of experts assesses unique brands and the companies behind them each year during the German Brand Award. The award was initiated by the German Design Council, an independent and international institution that promotes the public perception of design. The award is presented by the German Brand Institute.
