Be it roofing battens, wood frame construction or facade cladding – wood is a highly popular building material, including in multi-storey residential and commercial construction, not to mention in classic applications such as floor surfacing, decking boards or ceiling cladding. With various types of wood and wood materials, users require a reliable tool that allows them to cover every kind of application while creating quick and safe fastenings.

The fischer FGW 90F gas-actuated fastening tool fulfils these requirements. With a weight of 3.8 kilogrammes and compact dimensions (390 mm length x 108 mm width x 381 mm height), the tool is comfortable to grip. Users can quickly commence any fastening tasks, as the pressure loaded magazine can be quickly and easily loaded with up to 60 nails. A safety clip prevents nails from falling out, making it safe to reinsert them. Thanks to the high-grip nose and a setting energy of 90 joules, nails can be set at precisely the right location and in every direction, which also makes overhead installation easy to do.

The fischer FGW 90F is suitable for a variety of ring and smooth shank nails in lengths of 50 to 90 millimetres. Both D-shaped and round head nails can be processed with ease. This flexibility enables applications in solid wood, glued wood, plywood, chipboard, fibreboard and veneer materials with the fischer FGW 90F. A small wheel that sets the embedment depth offers tradespeople a choice of how to place the nails – either flush or fully embedded. A protective cover can be attached during placement to prevent any pressure marks during applications in visible areas. The fastening tool works in a temperature range of -7°C to +50°C.

The fuel cells and lithium-ion battery make the fischer FGW 90F fastening tool economical to work with. One fuel cell provides more than 1,100 fastenings. The powerful lithium-ion battery can quickly be replaced with a new one, providing more than 8,000 fixings per charge. The LED status display gives users a continuous overview of the tool’s remaining battery power and status, which allows standstills on the construction site to be prevented. Even without a full charge, the fischer FGW 90F won't let users down: If the battery runs out, a 10-minute charge is sufficient to place at least another 300 nails. It takes 90 minutes to fully charge the battery, which is also compatible with fischer’s other direct fastening tools, increasing flexibility on the construction site. The battery can also be used with the FGC 100, for instance. This gas-actuated fastening tool allows the direct installation of fixtures in concrete and steel. The corresponding standard and high-power nails are placed with 100 joules of energy.

The fischer FGW 90F is low maintenance, only requiring maintenance after approximately 20,000 fastenings. If the tool isn’t needed for a while, it can be safely stored on an adjustable hook (belt or rafter hook). fischer also offers the useful fastening tool in the fischer XL-Boxx, a practical kit for the secure transportation and storage of electrical tools. Accessories include the battery and charger, fuel cells, nails and a cleaning set with a cleaning solution, lubricating oil and a rubber sealing ring. Sets with nails and cartridges are also available.

fischer places a great deal of emphasis on high-quality service. Repairs to the FGW 90F fastening tool and other fischer tools are completed within 72 hours, including simultaneous inspection and cleaning. Replacement parts are available for a minimum of five years once production is phased out. The fixing expert fischer also provides support with the use of its equipment throughout its entire life cycle, from maintenance to proper disposal of the machine.
