The new PowerFast II wood construction screw firmly expands or pulls wood components together with its partial thread, enabling many different constructions. Applications of the screw innovation include wood on wood and metal on wood connections. In addition to the types of solid wood, wood materials and veneer specified in the ETA, the PowerFast II wood construction screw is also suitable for applications in fischer plugs with load values recommended by fischer. Its many different head types provide added flexibility, with available options including stepped countersunk, countersunk, disc heads and a hexagon head with a pressed-on washer. The innovative stepped countersunk head can be fully inserted into the wood, allowing fixtures to be screwed in flush and wood structures to be added as superstructures. Depending on the version, users can implement mullion-transom or rafter-purlin connections, fasten metal rails to wood substructures and much more. Possible applications include rooftop insulation, facades, roof trusses and carports. The European Technical Assessment (ETA) provides added safety.

Various technical ingenuities make using the screw quicker and more precise. With its three ribs, the screw tip ensures a quick bite while simultaneously providing a pre-drilling function. These properties make it easier to place the screw and significantly reduce its splitting behaviour in the material. The higher thread pitch reduces the time it takes to insert the screw. As a result, users successfully complete their projects quicker and more cost-effectively. Further features reduce the screw-in torque, which saves time and effort while ensuring convenient installation. This is enabled by the combination of the redesigned shaft ribs and the perfectly coordinated core milling thread geometry. The high-performance wax coating additionally reduces the screw-in torque, ensuring a longer battery life as well as an even and pleasant insertion experience.

Another technical highlight is that the innovative and patented core-milling geometry provides precise positioning and finish milling while the wood dust is conveniently removed. Thanks to this feature, the PowerFast II wood construction screw can also be used in low edge and axial spacing, which is essential to making many wood structures possible in the first place. A tangential impact screwdriver can be used to insert the PowerFast II wood construction screw, making installation even more convenient. Depending on the version, the new fischer wood construction screw is available in diameters of 8 to 12.
