The fixing specialist fischer is positive about its appearance at the Dach+Holz trade fair. Many visitors flocked to the exhibition booth in hall 9 to discover the latest fastening innovations for the roof and timber construction industry, while the moderated fischer challenges were a hit with the audience.
“Our appearance at the Dach+Holz trade fair was highly successful”, summarises Michael Geiszbühl, Managing Director of fischer Deutschland Vertriebs GmbH. “There was a great deal of interest in our latest fastenings and systems for roof and timber construction. Being able to speak to long-term customers and new leads and contractors was a very valuable experience for us. We’re delighted with the positive response to the products and services we showcased and the many follow-up activities”.
Seven moderated challenges for tradespeople were held on each day of the fair and required plenty of dynamism, speed and teamwork. Two teams of two challengers competed to assemble a rooftop insulation system by following a diagram. Wood screws by fischer for wood on wood connections and for fastening insulation were used during the challenge. The structure was then anchored in concrete with UltraCut FBS II concrete screws. The fastest team won a coveted prize, while the winner of the day won an additional fischer fridge. Presenter Jens Pflüger and fischer Field Application Engineer Roberto Weyda guided participants through the challenge.
Many visitors also took advantage of the opportunity to install fastening innovations in concrete, masonry and wood in the fischer Academy Area of the booth. The opportunity to try out the fischer FGW 90F setting tool also proved to be popular. Visitors were able to see for themselves how easy, quick and flexible it is to safely insert nails into wood using the tool.
The PowerFast II wood screw was presented to a large audience of experts for the first time. Its partial thread firmly draws wood components together, thereby permanently and securely connecting various wood structures. Different head types (in diameters of 8 to 12 mm depending on the variant) and the new screw geometry for low edge and axial spacing provide added flexibility. The innovative stepped countersunk head can be fully inserted into the wood so that fixtures can be screwed in flush while allowing wood structures to be assembled. Further exhibits included the latest generation of PowerFull II wood construction screws, ideal for processing and maximum force transmission thanks to its optimised thread geometry.
fischer also presented a wide range of chipboard screws for optimum connections between chipboard and other wood materials. fischer’s PowerFast II chipboard screws can be used for any wood on wood and wood on metal connections and for approved loads in plastic plugs by fischer. The fischer FAFS adjusting screw was also presented and makes infinitely adjustable stand-off installation quicker, simpler and more precise.
fischer’s range of solar systems for installing photovoltaic systems to pitched roofs with any conventional roof covers made its debut at the trade fair. The range allows various solar panel layouts and alignments to be implemented. The high product quality and innovative design of the range guarantee the safety and functionality of the solar panel systems for their entire service life, as well as the simple and secure installation of PV modules and systems.
An innovative chemical and steel system solution was presented in front of a wide audience for the first time: Combined with FIS A anchor rods or FIS IG internal threaded anchors, the fischer FIS EM Plus injection mortar allows high loads to be transferred in a wide range of applications in structural timber construction. A comprehensive range of accessories and system components made of galvanised steel and stainless steel allows many different bonded and even concealed connections to be implemented in wood both indoors and outdoors.
fischer’s UltraCut FBS II concrete screw and fischer FAZ II bolt anchors for anchoring wood structures in concrete also made an appearance at the exhibition. Combined with the FSW adjusting washer and PowerFast wood connection screws (such as the FPF-PT 5,0 x 35 ZPF 200), the fischer UltraCut FBS II 10 US gvz concrete screw makes it quicker and easier to adjust and align beams and joists. The latest generation of FAZ II Plus bolt anchors allows heavy loads to be fastened in concrete, sand-lime brick and steel fibre reinforced concrete with a high tensile load-bearing capacity, even without cleaning the drill hole and with a simpler and faster setting process (M8-M24). Dynamic applications and a service life of up to 120 years open up further potential applications of the “power bolt”.
fischer's innovative Thermax stand-off installation system was also among the products being presented. Combined with the fischer FIS V Plus injection mortar, Thermax enables fastenings through external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) practically without thermal bridges. The exhibitor furthermore exhibited its new FID II and FID II Plus insulation fixings for direct fastenings in insulation without thermal bridges.
Meanwhile, the consultation counters were another big hit at the trade fair booth, where the advantages of the fischer FiXperience design software for project planning support were demonstrated live.
The topic of sustainability also played a role in the concept of the fischer booth. The multiple-award-winning company emphasised its position on social and environmental responsibility with a green moss wall that stood six metres tall. The wall was equipped with GreenLine fastening products and awards presented to the exhibitor, such as the German Sustainability Award (awarded in 2020), the GREEN BRANDS quality seal and the award presented to climate protection companies by Germany's Ministry of the Environment. The ongoing Brand Ambassador strategy with Jürgen Klopp, which was launched in early 2023, was incorporated into the booth concept, with fischer playing clips of the successful coach trying out PowerFast II screws and diving into the world of fischer fixings.
