With the second member of the DUO family fischer continues its concept of red and grey two-component synthetic anchors showing functional intelligence within the material. Like the successful newcomer DUOPOWER fischer DUOTEC as well relies on various functions: swing open or expand.

The fischer DUOTEC is suited for pre-positioned installation in all board materials like plasterboards, gypsum fibreboards, wooden boards such as OSB, chipboards and MDF-plywood boards as well as steel and synthetic boards. In all these applications he is – without damaging the board materials – capable of bearing higher loads than common synthetic toggle plugs.

Moreover, in case of hitting obstacles while drilling holes or in case there is no adequate plug available, it can be applied as expansion anchor in massive materials like concrete or wood.

The fischer DUOTEC consists of a variety of components, the cooperation of which ensures an easy installation in all board materials. The red and hard component of the toggle distributes high loads over the entire contact surface. The grey and soft component adds further bearing capacity. It clings to the board surface and prevents the anchor from cutting into the board thus weakening its bearing capacity.

The toggle sits enthroned on a ribbed bar with which it is flexibly connected. The moveable flush sleeve increases the shear load bearing capacity and serves to adjust and fix the fischer DUOTEC. During the installation the user can turn the toggle parallel to the ribbed bar and insert it – with the arrow marking in front – into the drill hole. The ribbed bar serves to adjust the anchor. The toggle automatically swings open behind the board.

The white glass fibre reinforced flush sleeve is concisely pushed into the drill hole along the detent of the ribbed bar. The protrusion of the ribbed bar can be easily broken without any tools. Finally, the item to be fixed is installed. The two small stainless steel plates in the red part of the spring toggle serve as flexible screw entry. They allow for various screws, hooks with a variety of diameters to be fixed by the user. The bent handle of the ribbed bar is an efficient device to check the cavity and discover obstacles such as substructures, cables and pipes.

The new fischer DUOTEC has a diameter of 10 mm (3/8 inches). Its small drill hole diameter allows for working with any conventional 10-mm drill. The short spring toggle, being only 39 mm long (1.54 inches), makes fixing easy, even in narrow and insulated cavities with a minimal size of 50 mm (1,96 inches).
