The fischer anchor newcomer consisting of two components enabling three functions has been very well received during its first year on the market by professionals and do-it-yourselfers as well. At the same time the fischer DUOPOWER has received numerous awards, among them the pro-K award in Gold 2016, the Iron Award 2016, the Industry Prize 2016 und the International Design Prize Baden-Württemberg Focus Open 2016.
Demand for the plugs being extraordinarily strong, fischer has added five new versions to the DUOPOWER assortment. Since 1 October 2016, the following sizes are being delivered to the dealers in addition to the already available sizes 5 x 25, 6 x 30, 8 x 40 und 10 x 50 mm: diameters 12 x 60 und
14 x 70 mm (short versions) and 6 x 50, 8 x 65 und
10 x 80 mm (long versions).
Each of the now nine available two-coloured plugs activates – depending on the construction material – the function principle best suited for the task thus guaranteeing the best bearing capacity in solid and perforated masonry as well as in board materials. This fixing solution performs safely with high loads and – in comparison to conventional synthetic plugs – widens the range of applications coping with additional building materials and maximum loads.
The fischer DUOPOWER expands in concrete and solid masonry, folds in perforated masonry and folds or knots in board materials. These features make the new DUOPOWER the most-talented all-rounder among the general fixings and open the door for users to a completely new performance class.
The new long version is divided into three function zones: the anchor head (function zone I) expands in two directions enabling higher tensile forces and deeper grip in precarious building materials. In the middle section, function zone II, the grey gills-like expansion element spreads at an angle of 90 degrees to function zones I and IIII and, besides, ensures maximum screw guidance. The rear part of the long DUOPOWER, function zone III, is shaped exactly the same way as with the short versions. This is where the red component folds or expands – depending on the material the plug is fixed in.
Thanks to its geometry the long DUOPOWER expands along four axes in the drill hole. The larger anchorage depths make the long versions the ideal plug for fixings in perforated masonry and aircrete concrete, and also plaster layers can be bridged with the plug.
The combination of the red soft and the grey hard components ensures optimally tuned, easy screwing and tightening torques. The diameter of the screw can vary without the plug losing its high load-bearing capacity. Thus the user is given the best possible response by the anchor (feel-good-factor) in order to ensure the best fixing. He feels the moment when the plug fits perfectly and thus safely. The screw is easy to work with, does not overwind and tightens powerfully at the end of the installation.
High load-bearing capacity, simple installation
The pronounced anti-rotation locks expand into the building material and prevent the plug from rotating in the drill hole during the installation. Thus misapplication is avoided, refinishing unnecessary. A small rim prevents the plug from slipping into the drill hole and provides for both pre-positioned and push-through installations.
The small length of the short versions guarantees a quick and efficient installation, since the small depth of the drill hole makes long drilling superfluous and shorter screws can be used. Thus substantial time is saved by the user while preparing and executing the installation.
The positioning, guidance and fixing of the screw in the screw channel is made easy by the conical opening section of the plug and the spacious plug neck. The closed fixing geometry prevents the drill dust from getting into the interior of the plug. This provides for a better fixing function of the screw.
In order to fix the extraordinary plug wood, chipboard and stud screws can be used. There is a simple formula to calculate the correct length of the screw: Screw length = plug length + fixture thickness + screw diameter. Using board building materials, the threadless part of the screw must not be longer than the fixture.
