In order to make their products even more well known in the US, the fischer group of companies used an extraordinary advertising format together with their North American subsidiary. In mid-April, the new
fischer DUOTEC toggle anchor repeatedly shone on a huge screen over Times Square, drawing the attention of a wide audience.
The
fischer DUOTEC was repeatedly displayed on the oversized screen in front of a white background and was advertised with the slogan “The nylon toggle anchor for high loads”. The world-renowned fischer logo was displayed underneath. The second illuminated board displayed the slogan “Stunning fastener technology from Germany” and the fischer internet address. The screens measure 11 by 10 and 7 by 14 meters and are positioned next to the famous Hard Rock Cafe on Times Square.
The North American market relies heavily on the use of board materials when it comes to construction. The
fischer DUOTEC toggle anchor is therefore particularly suited for the US and is ideal for fixings with prior insertion methods in all board materials, such as gypsum plasterboards, gypsum fiberboards, wood and chip boards, MDF fiberboards as well as steel and plastic plates. It can also take on higher loads than conventional plastic toggle anchors without damaging the board material.
The two stainless steel metal plates in the red part of the toggle anchor form the flexible screw holder. These enable the user to apply various screws and hooks of different diameters. Whether the screws conform to the metric or Anglo-American system (inches) is irrelevant.
The
fischer DUOTEC consists of a variety of components which together enable smooth assembly into all board materials. The red, hard part of the toggle element distributes high loads across the entire bearing surface. The grey, soft component additionally increases the load capacity. It nestles onto the board surface, preventing the anchor from cutting in and weakening the board load capacity. The toggle element sits on a screened grip with a flexible connection. This contains an adjustable collar sleeve to adjust and fix the
fischer DUOTEC. During assembly, the user can lay the toggle element parallel to the grip, inserting it front-facing into the drill hole using the arrow markings. The grip helps with the alignment. The toggle element automatically expands behind the board.
