fischer fixings in the Brenner Base Tunnel

Europe’s largest infrastructure project to date is in full swing. The Brenner Base Tunnel has been under construction since 2007, and will be the world’s longest underground railway connection upon its scheduled completion in 2026. The new railway line from Munich to Verona will see the faster transport of goods and passengers through the tunnel. fischer’s heavy-duty anchors were used to safely install both permanent and temporary fixtures.

The Middle Kingdom has been investing intensively in its infrastructure for years. This includes the expansion of the rail network in many cities and in the countryside. The fischer Group of Companies is providing support to many of these large-scale projects with its fixing systems and on-site service solutions. For example, more than 750,000 fischer fixings were used during the construction of the new metro line 1 in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province in Southwest China. Electrical cables, communication systems, guard doors and firefighting systems were securely and firmly installed using these fixings.

fischer is expanding its DUO-Line with the new nylon toggle DUOTEC 12 for 6 mm chipboard screws and/or M6 screws. Its metal skeleton insert guarantees high tensile and shear load capacities in all board materials. A scale on the tie bar for determining the correct screw length makes installation easier and faster.
